![]() ![]() Unless you interact with the Files app a lot on your iPhone, I'm at a loss to come up with a compelling use case for this one. Worth it? I'm yawning my way all the way to Cupertino on this one.The only difference is how many recent files are shown. Best Size: You only have two options for this one, small or large.Function: Shows you your recently accessed files and gives you quick access to the Files app.Plus, who doesn't like a clock on their home screen? Worth it? Having one-click access to the Clock app is most definitely worth it.The medium widget lets you know what the time shift is between where you and the other tracked cities. For those that need to keep an eye on multiple time zones, I prefer the medium over the multi-clock small widget. Best Size: If you only care about what the time is where you are right now? The small version is all you need. But it also can display the time in multiple cities and gives you easy access to Clock app. Worth it? If you have a busy schedule or a lot of appointments? Definitely. Both the large and small just focus on your events, the medium is the only one that adds a calendar to the mix. Best Size: The medium widget is the way to go here.Function: Displays either your next event, your next event plus future events and a monthly calendar, or your calendar timeline.Worth it? I don't need a constant reminder of how much juice my devices are using, but I did add this one to the Search screen right away so that I could easily access it.I can figure out which device is which by glancing at the icon, thanks. I don't find the large version all that compelling since all it does is list out the name of the device. Best Size: The small version hits the sweet spot, though the medium does list the exact percentage available, which is nice.Function: You have a lot of Apple devices other than your phone, here's a quick way to track how much power is left on your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods. If you don’t like the options, you can also roll your own by stacking same-sized widgets on top of each other. If you're only going to install one widget, this is the one that you should choose. Worth it? Apple wisely put its most useful widget at the top of the list. This is one widget that thrives off of screen real estate, but you don't gain enough extra functionality to justify the large widget. Best Size: The medium is the most useful. You can also turn off the smart rotation feature. If any of the included widgets aren't useful you can edit the stack and remove or reorder them. Siri will switch up what it shows you based on time of day and usage, but you can always manually scroll through the available widgets. It combines the Siri Suggestions, Weather, Calendar, News, Photos, Maps, and Music widgets all into one convenient widget. Function: Smart Stack is the Swiss Army knife of widgets. So which ones do you pick? And what's the best size to use them at? Here's the list, in order, along with what they do, what size is best, and if they're worth it. On my iPhone Pro Max, I can squeeze in six widgets at the most. After all, you only have so much room on your home screen and can only fit so many widgets. You can also stack similarly-sized widgets on top of each other to automatically create a Smart Stack. Then click Done in the upper right to lock it in place. Press the Add Widget button and you'll pop back to the home screen where you can place your widget. Once you choose what size you'd like it to be. Select a widget and scroll through the various options. You'll see suggested widgets at the top, but you can scroll past the previews to choose from the full list at the bottom. ![]() Press the plus icon in the upper left corner to enter the widget menu. ![]()
