If you REALLY want to bring your own food in, the Delsea has instituted a Food Policy which asks that if you bring in your own food to please buy an Outside Food Permit. So do your part and buy your food at the snackbar. With the Drive-In season so short because of the weather, it's important for them to make their operating money however they can. Please help places like this survive by not sneaking in your own snacks, as this does eventually lead to the demise of the places that we hold so dear. Regarding movie food, let me get on the soap box for just a sec:Īs some of you may know and now you will know, most mom and pop theatres don't make their money from admission, but rather at the snackbar. In addition to standard snackbar fare (popcorn and snocaps, please) they've got a pretty wide selection of food, including: Originally opened from 1949-1987, it re-opened just a few years ago in 2004. Down in Vineland, there is still a lot of open space. Why? Because it's the ONLY Drive In Movie Theater left in New Jersey, THE STATE THAT INVENTED DRIVE IN MOVIES! I seriously can't believe that Jersey only has one DI, but there you go. 129 reviews of Delsea Drive-in 'New Jersey started the drive-in theatres, and this is sadly the only one left in the state. The Delsea Drive In is one of the few places here I have not gone to but am going to recommend anyways. But to this day I still love the idea of going to the movies in pajamas! I remember going to the VFW Drive In in West Roxbury MA (now a Home Depot) with my mother to see American Grafitti, and falling asleep right after it started.
